Bass, soloist of the Metropolitan opera, the outstanding soloist of the opera. He graduated Moscow State Conservatory of P. I. Tchaikovsky (class of professor E.E.Nesterenko). Right after the graduation he was enrolled as soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia where worked for more than 15 years, performing all leading repertoire. The international career of the singer began with a performance at the Wexford festival, further in the Hamburg state opera, Yehudi Menuhin’s Festival in Gshtaada; in the German opera in Berlin and in the Bavarian state opera. His great skills and magnificent voice saw the most known scenes of the world: La Scala and di Veron’s Arena in Italy, Metropolitan Opera in New York, Colon Theatre in Argentina, Bella Artes in Mexico, the German opera in Berlin and Hamburg, etc. He is one of the brightest representatives of brilliant bass vocal technique tradition developed by great Fedor Shalyapin. At the same time he is an outstanding actor whose thin interpretation always uniquely corresponds to styles, whims and words of each musical work. Mikhail Svetlov is the winner of international contest of opera singers in Italy, the nominee of Grammy award, as well the two-time Telerama award winner in France for world premieres of Stravinsky, Serov and Rachmaninov’s operas. He recorded disc of seldom performed works of “The Mighty Group” in 2009 on request of company «Naxos». He was invited by Mstislav Rostropovich, namely, to London at opening of the 1st festival of Benjamin Britten where he performed the 14th symphony of Shostakovich. Masterly violinist, the polystylist, the improvisator. He graduated Moscow State Conservatory of P.I. Tchaikovsky, class of professor Eduard Grach, postgraduate study in MSC of P.I. Tchaikovsky. The violinist-soloist of MKFO “Mosconcert”, cooperates with the leading Moscow record companies, private recording studios and various creative academic and also Gipsy collectives. He performed the role of the Gipsy violinist in the movie of Chukhraya “The Russian game”. He regularly participates in M. Kazinik’s concerts.
